Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) Description: The role of an SLP is to identify speech-language disorders in children and provide services based on the child’s individual, identified needs. Services provided by Speech-Language Pathologists in HVED:Speech Language Pathologists evaluate students to determine if the child has a speech language impairment. They provide an array of services to support children and families in early intervention. They provide direct speech and language therapy to students in the SPECTRUM, SAIL and ALC program. Speech Language Pathologists collaborate with teachers, families and other providers to address complex communication needs.
